Jack Bastian has been involved in some area of law enforcement since emigrating to the US from Cambridge, England in 1972.

After getting two degrees from Edison State Community College (Piqua, OH) in criminal justice and political science, he attended Indiana University where he received a bachelors in general studies with a duo emphasis on criminal justice & fine arts.

He joined the U.S. Coast Guard’s Department of Homeland Security as a maritime law enforcement officer specializing is underwater search and rescue operations. Following that, Bastian joined the U.S. Army’s Reserve Military Police Company (Cincinnati) and then became a security police officer with the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

He also served as a parole officer and case manager for ODRC’s Adult Parole Authority.

Bastian, trained as a medical death examiner (St. Louis University), served as CEO for Paradigm Mental Health Systems. Additionally, he was a first line supervisor/instructor in the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program (London, OH).

Other areas of expertise include hostage negotiation, financial investigations, advanced open water and night diving rescue, evidence/crime lab analysis, etc.

Bastian has been awarded the U.S. Coast Guard Arctic Service Medal; Coast Guard Good conduct medal; U.S. Army reserve Soldier of the Year and he has been named Police Officer of the Year from Union City PD, Montgomery County Sheriff Dept., & Northmont Rotary Club.

He is currently a practicing licensed private investigator in the state of Ohio (24 years), Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security License #20172100210016
