Janine Matis knew nothing about post conviction investigation when she approached some clinic members in 2023.  Her friend, Vicente Guevara, had been trying to clear his name since 1998 when, as a 15 year old, he agreed to take a plea for a crime he didn’t do.

Vicente’s case is now one of NWOIC’s active cases and Janine, after a crash course in post investigation training, has volunteered to manage the social media sites of the organization.
